Daily Systems and Novo Dia Group Team Up to Provide Texas Farmers’ Markets iPhone-Based Payment Solution

Mobile POS solution for iPhone handles WIC EBT CVB, credit and debit transactions

PASO ROBLES, Calif.

Daily Systems and Novo Dia Group have teamed up to offer a payment solution to Texas farmers’ markets participating in the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC), improving access to fresh produce and healthy food.

The iPhone-based application Mobile Market+™ from Novo Dia Group allows participating markets to process WIC electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cash-value benefits (CVB) transactions. Vendors will also be able to process SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), credit and debit transactions.

Daily Systems’ iAPS™ sled adds magnetic-stripe reading, printing and bar code scanning to the iPhone platform – all in one device. The integrated printer enables the vendors to generate printed receipt for all purchases, vendor reports, and market summary reports just like in a regular store.

“The iPhone platform has enabled Texas Department of State Health Services to expand their services to WIC participants,” says Josh Wiles, president of Novo Dia Group. “By teaming up with Daily Systems, we were able to provide a complete payment solution with a choice of WIC EBT cards, cash, debit, or credit transactions.”

“The iAPS solution is more feature rich and costs significantly less than traditional payment terminals,” says René Oliver, CEO of Daily Systems. “Thanks to our software partners, we can provide solutions that meet the unique requirements of every individual market.”

The pilot began operating in two locations (Austin and Bryan/College Station) in December 2011.
