TotilPay Now Certified to Accept eWIC in California

Note to readers: Mobile Market+ was rebranded to TotilPay in March 2020.

In September 2019, the California Department of Public Health introduced the electronic card version of The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) card, or eWIC. Serving over 8 million women, infants and children nationally in 2014 and 1.3 million people in California alone, the move to an electronic card is part of a nationwide initiative to modernize the WIC checkout process to provide a faster, more convenient and secure way for consumers to receive food benefits. It also streamlines transactions at point of sale for merchants and shoppers. With the elimination of WIC paper certificates, merchants in California who wish to remain authorized WIC vendors must have the ability to accept the WIC card at point of sale.

Novo Dia Group has been certified by FIS and CDP to process payments from the new California WIC card. All WIC-authorized merchants using our certified TotilPay POS system can quickly and easily add the ability to accept the new California WIC card—no upgrades required and no hardware add-ons. The compliant, feature-rich and affordable TotilPay POS system allows merchants to add WIC acceptance to their existing POS or choose an integrated system that accepts all form of payment including WIC, SNAP, credit and debit.

TotilPay  is future-proof, supporting the latest industry advancements as well as any upcoming regulatory requirements, including changes in EBT cards. Our cloud-based portal provides robust, on-demand reporting which eliminates the need for multiple POS terminals when accepting WIC cards and other EBT and saves valuable counter space.
